On Friday, July 15 2017, Jeff Barber was recognized by Unilever BCS as their first recipient of the “Unilever Local Hero” program. He was awarded a certificate of appreciation and a gift basket.
Jeff sets the example for other Legionnaires to follow. He makes himself available 24 hours a day to take calls for assistance from any Veteran in need. He works with the four groups of the American Legion Family and other Posts within the District to ensure all are well informed on activities to mutually help each other. He ensures requests for military funerals for Veterans are honored and the ceremony is carried out with military precision and dignity. Jeff does all of Post 19’s finance duties, including filing taxes, non-profit status forms, employee W-2’s, and insurance and bonding of officers. He attends city meetings and works to include the local community in all Post functions.
