On October 14 we were privileged to visit veterans at Sweetlife at Rosehill nursing facility. Approximately 27 members, representing all four Legion groups, participated. The veterans (some assisted by family members) shared with us, their individual life and military experiences. Post 19 American Legion Riders Director, Lynn Atchison, presented Dorwin Lamkin (one of the last surviving veterans of Pearl Harbor) with an American Legion Riders challenge coin. Tim Conely, Post 19 Sgt. at Arms, presented American Legion Post 19 challenge coins to all of the veterans in attendance. Some became very emotional upon receiving the coins. Bryan Templeton led a group of bikes with flags through the parking area to the delight of the residents.
